Tomorrow is the beginning of Book week for 2014. From Saturday the 16th of August until Friday the 22nd of August kids all over the country will be encouraged to connect to reading, which happens to also be this year’s theme.
But why does book week need to be limited to children? I have a challenge for readers of all ages this week. Read one book. Just one book and share your thoughts with your friends, family, on social media, as much as you can and wherever you can. By reading just one book and sharing it you can help inspire others to keep reading, and writing stories of their own.
Books and authors could soon become a thing of the past. With so much being copied onto the internet and pirating it is getting harder for writers to make a living. An unpublished writer needs encouragement and opportunity. Not all published authors reach international success and movie deals, but with enough of an audience they can make a living writing stories that you want to read.
So grab a cup of tea, a good book, and get reading. Happy book week!
