No matter which group you find yourself in I have some out-there ideas that will give you some new motivation!
Have a competition – You can compete with a friend with a similar goal, or you can find some other people online. Better yet, compete with yourself and do better then your last try each time.
Trickster method – When you have a specific goal set your result higher then you actually need to. Say you want to save $100 a month to total $1,200 by the end of the year, using the trickster method I’d say I need to save $30 a week (when I would actually only need to save $23 to reach my goal) – I’d end up with $1,560!
Reminders and alarms – Use what works for you, calendar reminders, phone alarms, email alerts, post-it notes, writing on the back of your hand, apps. Use whatever tools you have on hand to remind yourself about your goal and why you are working towards it.
Write yourself a letter – write down your vision for the future, how you will feel and what you expect an average day in your life will be like once you make this goal happen. Read it to yourself every morning and remind yourself of that vision throughout the day.
Book appointments – whether its an appointment with a personal trainer, a business coach, a career mentor, a teacher/tutor, or just with yourself, making a time to get advice and really work on your goals is the best way to make progress.
Screen saver – set up your screen saver to display inspirational quotes and images to help you see yourself achieving your goal. Every time you get distracted and your screen saver pops up you will be reminded of what you should be doing.
Good luck with your goals this month, if you have any tips or tricks that help you move closer to achieving your goals let us know in the comments below!
