Today, May 3rd, is International Permaculture day! I couldn’t think of a better day to introduce you all to this fascinating style of gardening. I first learnt about it through The Edible Garden series hosted by Alys Fowler. Alys uses Permaculture in a small scale in her back garden to grow fruit and vegetables.
Basically Permaculture is the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. It is generally an organic way of planting your garden that invites nature in and helps you grow things in the most sustainable way possible.

International Permaculture day is about spreading the word of this sustainable method of gardening. For more info visit www.permacultureday.org for all the facts.
You know what they say, you learn something new every day!
