For the Queens Birthday a friend and I went on a bit of a road trip and ended up in Kyneton for morning tea. The weather was not on our side, as we left Melbourne the clouds closed in along with it wind and rain. Being a public holiday there wasn’t much open, luckily there were a number of cafe’s to choose from and a couple of shops to browse through.
We loved the look of the sweets and meals through the window of the Country Cob Bakery so decided to stop in there. I had a cappuccino and an apple cake and they were both lovely. I’m a bit of a coffee snob so I have high expectations for a good cup of coffee and I must say they did not disappoint, it was strong, hot and delicious. Exactly what I needed to warm me up on such a miserable day.
The apple cake was fantastic and the hot food looked amazing, chicken parma’s, cauliflower with cheese sauce, a number of pasta dishes, pies – you name it. I would definitely like to go back and try lunch there.
The seating was good with decent sized tables and room to get around even when all the chairs are full (Its frustrating when you can’t walk around chairs to get to the bathroom or exit if the room is full). I would definitely recommend you stop off in Kyneton if you are ever passing through this way.
Until next time, colour outside the lines, dream big, enjoying the little things, and above all else… embrace imperfection.
